As an aside, all of the midis made by Borg No. One seem broken. They play but every midi editor and tracker I've tried throws errors. Anyone else getting that and know of a fix? Ah yes, I get that too. I think they're in MIDI format 2 or something - I tried to find a program that would let me convert them to a format that could be used but I didn't find any. It's a shame, since Borg's MIDIs are the most accurate ones.

When I was working on my remake, I had a similar problem with Borg's midi files. Only some phones were able to play them, so I used TS-MIDI Editor from www.audioto.com/ , and used the 'export to MIDI' function. The resulting files were slightly bigger, but in a more standard format, since as far as I know every phone can play them. I Hope that helps!

But I tried opening one of Borg's MIDIs with Anvil Studio and saving it as MIDI format 0 and it worked perfectly

I eventually figured out what my problem was when I started looking at the file headers. Borg's midis are RIFF midis and should end in .rmi, which were described to me as being typical Microsoft behaviour--take a standardized format, throw it in a proprietary container, and call it done.
None of the open source editors I tried could handle it but a few commercial ones can. Download a demo, save as regular midi, problem solved. Now on to the new problem of actually making something worth posting...

I knew it! As dead as this forum gets, it won't be buried until this thread dies permanently. Which it won't! GRATZ!

...And that reminds me I improved my Sarah's Song remaster, remastered CAMANISE and was nearly done with Tyrian the Level. Then I formatted my PC and didn't make backups of them. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- I've also had great ideas for "Come Back Again to Savara", the synth part might sound awesome in a distorted guitar with some delay I'll try to make it sometime later. Maybe tomorrow. I've read somewhere that OpenTyrian supports .ogg files in place of the original MIDIs I think. Couldn't find out how though. Hopefully it's true, because you guys have made some awesome mixes - they're really an improvement over the originals IMO. It'd be a shame to see all this work done for nothing. :/

hey guys its a long time ago!! you might remember me from one of the rock garden remixes this one:
i recently made a new remix of a track from tyrian.
its space journey part 2 ! i noted all the melodies my self since there aren't any midi files for it.(and its just way nicer to try it your self hehe!)
here it is:
i grew alot since my remix of rock garden! i also changed my name into combustion
i also had this akward idea to transform BEER into a song wich i only used my voice for this is more a fun remix than a serious one
hope you guys like my space journey remix! i certainly love the outcome
edit: technoguy that guitar remix is awesome!!

It's exactly how I like videogame remixes, modernized while still keeping the spirit of the original. It just needs a slightly "fatter", fuller sound imo, but maybe that's just my preference when it comes to electronic music. Also, didn't the first synth line have a delay effect on the original? (EDIT: nvm, I noticed it does have some delay here, but it's buried in the mix when everything else enters.) Tyrian may be an infinitely repeating game, but you've just won it. All of it. I still gotta complete it in Hard and above difficulties ;c Or did I not get it.

Sarah's Song in my cover version (v2) used mostly 8-bit instruments

Hi all. Not sure if this place is really all that dead, but if it's not, I just wanted to chime in. I re-arranged "Tyrian, the Level" and I'd like some feedback. Of course, this is a prelim version as it's pretty sloppy and not mastered very well, but I hope you all enjoy it and any feedback on how I can improve it would be great! djdarkx.info/Tyrian-TheLevel.mp3 (MP3) djdarkx.info/Tyrian-TheLevel.ogg (OGG)
