i remade my camanis remix because that one sucked sooo bad xD I didn't think nixin's was bad. It could use a little tweaking, yes, but I didn't think it sucked. It captures the original feel of the song more than yours. its some kind of hardtrance version of it i hope you guys like it Actually, I liked your old version of Camanis a little better. 0:13-0:24 in this new version just all mushes together, the melody is lost.

The way you wrote it, it was confusing which song you were refering to.

LOL I just realized that Camanis would be an awesome ringtone! It's a shame I always use vibrate mode. :/

About nixin's remix: It sounds pretty good, even if the instruments sound a bit off, but the longer synth sounds could blend together more, right now how they sound like they retrigger all the time sounds quite jarring. It's pretty good though.
About mrg's remix: A good remix, but the annoying bassline pretty much destroys it when it starts. Could really do without it to be awesome, imo.

You guys have done an awesome job remaking the soundtrack. Your songs are amazing, really. But it's sad to see this project is unactive - hopefully there'll be more activity soon. I decided to remake a song for this project: Sarah's Song. I've always loved that one. I registered mostly to post my work, which you can listen to here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5WaOvjRJSgI'm still a newbie on this and if any of you guys ever looks at this I'd appreciate if you gave me some advice. Also here's the .ogg download, since you're using that format: www.mediafire.com/?tmddmmm2zzt

I've thought about dabbling in music remixing. I don't have any musical talent or hardware but I've played with a few trackers. A little. Just enough to make some vague simplistic tunes that sound like they're coming out of an 8 bit system. There are a lot of them out there and they all have one thign in common--a high learning curve for the musically disadvantaged.
What sorts of tools do the guys making these sorts of pro remixes use? How do you go about working them? Do you still have the project files?

I use FL Studio 9, which is fairly easy to get used to, yet you can make awesome stuff in it. I would still be considered a beginner with this though. To remix Sarah's Song I used MaliceX's edit of meezo's MIDI, which can be found here. It's easier to remake the song if you import a MIDI of it into the program. I still have the .flp file and if you have FLS9 I can PM it to you as long as you don't claim the remix as your own or anything.

As an aside, all of the midis made by Borg No. One seem broken. They play but every midi editor and tracker I've tried throws errors.
Anyone else getting that and know of a fix?
