So much potential. The team had the graphics, code, everything... and poop out an add on pack so incredibly dull-lead-spherical that it can only be compared to the horror of The Red Odyssey for battlezone (google it if you must.)
I mean what the hell? The empire didn't even strike back.

yeah, It also made the final boss a Fruit ship, A FRUIT SHIP! Man how anti climactic. A Level Sized Dreadnaught would've been more appropriate

Shipedit does made a mistake;
If you want the MircoCorp HXS Class C shield, you get the class B instead... until you reach the last level of Episode 5...
I wish I had the tools to make my own Tyrian Levels...

The majority of the ship would just be background, with protruding towers, fins and turrets as sprites but not moving relative to the background. You could have several objectives like shield generators etc which the level pauses on until destroyed.

Like TIMEWAR? That would be awesome.

If I had the proper tools, then I'd make a long level, with at the end a tough end boss which might match the Dreadnaught in Episode 4. Might make an episode of my own then if I get the time...

Don't touch Ep5 or everything else you create will be fated to suck forever.

Yeah there's not a whole lot that can be salvaged from Episode 5.
I was thinking more like 1942 when you fight the battleships. I think the majority of the ship is background tiles and the guns are sprites. The thing in timewar is all sprites.

If you are creative you can make it look like you are flying in from the side (empty space all on the right but more of the ship to the right is revealed via moving sprites :D_
