repulsor works wonder on slow but powerfull enemies' blasts, it makes some levels WAY easier but most of the time it's not worth being used on LOTG since there are so much tracking shots. The ice blast is just evil against some bosses
anyway IMO specials aren't that good really, I just take one that lets me use twiddles as fast as I can in Engage mode and on Full game mode I never use them unless I am at those moment where it makes life easier

Hm, fair enough. If I have a ship with an easy-to-trigger twiddle (such as the Guided Bomb Cluster), then I tend it to use that on any moment when I want it.

It's been a while (as in, years), but if memory serves, when I beat LOTG Engage mode in Tyrian 2.0 (which is harder than 2.1 and later if memory serves), Repulsor was a key part. Even at the rediculously high speed aimed shots move in that situation, if you've got a rapid fire controller or swift fingers and you keep at least 1/4 or so of screen space between you and the point of origin, it works quite well, especially when the alternative is getting pummeled by at least one per second as tends to be the case in, say, Gyges.

Don't forget the irritating Deliani Ships in Deliani(Ep1), Bonus (Ep3), New Deli(Ep3) and Station(Ep 5).

Hull: Stalker 21.126 Front: Laser/Zica Laser Back: Sonic Wave/Fireball/Rear MegaPulse/Guided MicroBombs Left: Zica Laser/Flamethrower/Plasma Storm Right: same ^ Special: Soul of Zinglon/Ice Freeze/Banna bomb
Plasma storm be penalized in its capacity of charges, but it truely be the strongest most devestating weapons in the game. And in controlled bursts at exact 'heat points' it can lift a lot of load off one's shoulders.

That's true. It also has the advantage of ignoring indestructible objects since it passes straight through them.

SDF main gun, lol! That stuff obliterated most weaker ships I encountered, and served well until I accidentally picked up a crappy replacement.
My space bar is worn out and gets stuck occasionally because of the repulsor on LOTG mode.

I'm not using that or any other specials once I get my Hands on the SDF Main Gun.

SDF Main Gun owns all! Mostly all...

It does with the Constant Laser as front Gun.

It still owns souls by itself.
Soul of Zinglon would be a sweet power, but it's unfortunately too close to useless... Mines placed randomly too far apart, the beam does little to no damage...

I play the game with a gamepad and it has a turbo fire switch (so rapid that the constant laser is nearly constant). That is when Repulsor becomes the king of all specials - no matter what level of difficulty it is. In fact, when you lose it you then realise just how lazy you have become because you get out of practise dodging bullets.

I have a Gravis gamepad, it's cream colored and worn, but has 3 switches: Normal, Turbo, and ULTRA TURBO (in large blue print, no less)! I've never tested the latter, but it sounds like fun >: ) What's that level with all the moneys? Bubbles? Have it set to Ultra Turbo, fly in with a repulsor... OMG, insta-cash!
