Looking great so far, dude. The "watermarks" distract though, make them more transparent.

Thanks for your nice comments. Yes, the watermarks distract a little bit, but it's "unstealable", so noone can say "hehe, it's my work"! We posted those pics at more than 5 pages and sure, anywhere is someone who wants to say he did those graphics... We are just in the beginning, so if someone steals or idea and reprogramm it, our work until now was for nothing

That makes it understandable. Standard security, I presume...

I wouldn't claim copyright on images that are an unlicensed derivative work (aka someone else's property). Cause you didn't make those images. Daniel Cook did. I don't know if he would mind if you used them considering that he's given away a lot of his other sprites but he probably wouldn't like you claiming you created them.
It looks cool though. Is there an iriver emulator for PC?

Tyrian is freeware, so we don't think about trouble of using the pics... And at some of the sites where we posted, we have been afraid what to do, if someone says, that he made everything? So we used that way to save the images... To play Tyrianlite, there is no Iriver emulator (at the moment) ... BUT: The U10 supports Flashlite 1.1, so you can use every ordinarry Flashliteplayer like the SWF-Opener: www.browsertools.net/downloads1.htmlScroll down and you will find it... it might be not the best flashlite player, but it's working quiet good ... maybe we will show a small trailer soon... we keep on working

Tyrian is freeware but that doesn't mean you can re-use the graphics and not credit the artist. And it doesn't mean you can act like you drew the graphics yourself. And it really really doesn't mean you hold the copyright. The developers still hold the copyright to Tyrian. If you use their copyright materials in a derivative work without their permission it doesn't mean you suddenly hold the copyright on those materials. Intellectual property laws should be compulsory reading for anyone on the internet. Especially anyone who is going to create something they don't want stolen. And it looks really hypocritical when you plaster watermarks all over something because you don't want people taking credit for your work when you're taking credit for someone else's work yourself.

Erm...cough....I made this kick-butt tyrian movie and it is being processed now, I credited Epic and Xsiv at the end, but since I didn't want people stealing the movie, I put a copyright on the MOVIE itself...was that ok?

Well to use Tempest as an example - if you creative a derivative work using other peoples intellectual property (eg sprites) then you hold the copyright on the new material you have contributed (animation and script) but as someone else holds the copyright on the sprites they can stop you distributing their sprites in your movie. So he doesn't really have a copyright on the whole movie. Just the original parts he made. So it would be best for him to include a copyright notification for the sprites and another one for his material. The problem with the flashlite game is that he's claiming copyright over the whole thing, including graphics, and is making it seem like he created the graphics himself. bb1 your copyright of the movie is limited to what you have contributed which is the presentation, mixing and encoding. All the graphics are still controlled by the devs so you could put "graphics sound and music copyright whoever" on yours.

Hmm, so should we better ask Developers of Tyrian? Do they have an E-Mail address? I don't want to steal them their game, I just don't want anyone to steal us our version of the game...
