Hi folks, A great job you did on OpenTyrian ! Just to say that I ported released OpenTyrian for the GP2x, a handheld console under linux. You can grab the binaries from here : archive.gp2x.de(go to Games->Freeware->Shoot-em-up) EDIT : sorry if my words did hurt your eyes ! ;D indeed, OpenTyrian was already conceived to be compiled for GP2x. But since it's my first port release, I was so proud that I couldn't retain my words

Do you have problems with the config being corrupted? or did you fix that? Please let us know if you fix any GP2X specific bugs.
Edit: I think I may have fixed the config issue, didn't test it though.

"You ported it?" Last time I looked at the source it kinda had GP2X support hacked in already. =P

Yeah, we've been able to build for GP2X for quite some time... which isn't to say we don't appreciate you building it for others to use (you might even post about it on GP32X)...

Yeah OpenTyrian was so easy to build for GP2x ! that's why I'm so thankful to the OpenTyrian team Actually I modified - the Makefile, in order to compile - config.c to manage GP2x buttons and to lower the processor type. I noticed that there was a problem with config management. At first OpenTyrian start, the buttons were managed and I could shoot everything. Then on second launch I couldn't fire the ennemies My (dirty) solution is simply to remove the config on each launch ! You can get the modded sources from here : unismetz.free.fr/site/fichiers/opentyrian2x-src.zip I let the svn entries inside the archive, you will easily get a diff

revision 588 should fix the ugly bottom black bar being 'corrupted' By the way, is there any way to remove that bottom black bar ? Another question : are svn accounts the same as for this forum ? I would have a few GP2X-related updates to commit.

Nope, SVN is restricted to developers (me, Mindless and Syntaxglitch). However, if you want to send us some patches (try to avoid spacing changes please) we will gladly review and integrate them.

In order to remove the bottom black bar you'd need to implement some sort of a scaler.

Tyrian for GP2X!!! Wow! It has been the greatest news for this handheld for a long time A man on the gp32spain forum said that the game runs at a normal speed when using gmenu2x activating ram Tweaks and raising the clock to 240 Mhz. If I could help in any way to the project it would be great. I know a little of C programming
