Hello all, I'm new to this forum. Sorry that this isn't too related to Tyrian, but had anyone else had trouble installing AdPlug for the latest version of Winamp recently? It worked before, over a half a year ago before the OS reinstall. Now whenever I install the plugin, every time Winamp starts, it pops up with an error box (Winamp then loads up normally, but the Tyrian files won't play). To get rid of the error box, I have to reinstall Winamp and manual delete the plugin files, then reinstall. I am using version 5.33.
I would like to get it working again so I could play the LDS format Tyrian music easily, without going into DOSBox or switching to Linux. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I get a library plugin load error, but it doesn't affect playback. I suggest converting the LDS's into MP3's and listening to the MP3's with a preferred player so you don't need to go ahead and mess around with LDS's. I have the MP3's all in a folder, I could RAR it and sent it to you if you want.

It would help to know what is the error.

Strange. Reinstalled AdPlug again, error popped up, but the LDS files could be played again. It pops up every time Winamp starts up though. It would help to know what is the error. Done. The database could not be loaded? Hmm, are you sure you installed adplug correctly, it looks like it's missing some files.

I installed Winamp first, then installed the .exe AdPlug installer. It installs it under C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins. Then I just start up Winamp, and that shows up, and until this time, the LDS files never play.

I don't think so. The database it's talking about is a list of additional instructions on how to play specific songs. It shouldn't be required but you can download a copy of the database with all known songs that need this information at sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=28079&package_id=77413That's all IIRC cause I don't have winamp or adplug on this pc I'll test it tomorrow. Where's Borg Number One these days? He's pretty familiar with it.
