Heyy, recently I'm messing with Tyrian midis. Here's what I do to them: 1. convert from LSD to midi via foobar plugin 2. Adjust playback rate of midi items in Reaper to match tempo track 3. Import midi tracks to LilyPond 4. Figure out notation + fix some notes with wrong durations 5. Copy+Paste or rewrite some parts to make sense in piano staff, also doing some layout changes due to overlapping voices etc. My first creation: "Return to me, Savara", grab it here: drive.google.com/file/d/0B_vq7NfHpi31SjJpQjNiQzFpWVU/view?usp=sharingIncludes pdf and midi file. I actually tried playing it, and it's definitely possible. Stuff from m. 16 ownwards looks crazy, but it's really not that hard.. but one would probably want to play this piece slightly slower (original tempo is 130 BPM). For easier version, you can skip octaves in bass and play 16-th notes selectively, if they're too hard. What is missing from MIDI: second bass has slightly different notes in couple of measures, but I included only 'main' bass for consistency; there are no drums, obviously; there is some synth pad with long notes, but it wouldn't make sense to include it, since it would be overlapped by other stuff. I'm really curious how other songs will turn out.. I suspect that the one I did was probably one of the harder ones.. but we'll see. This is rad, kg! Awesome work. I'd love to do an a cappella version of some Tyrian pieces, especially the more melodic ones.
