Hi there I just want to help a little bit with Opentyrian, the project seems to be dying, and it's not finished yet I wanna help with shipedit and some other stuff The first crime in your code I've noticed is that: /* We didn't have a save file! Let's make up random stuff! */ editorLevel = 800; /* TODO: Figure out what this is about and make sure it isn't broked. */ As far as I understand you had problems with understanding what the editorLevel is. According to Jason Emery: [/li][li] Rear Weapon: [/li][li] Special Weapon: [/li][li] Left Sidekick: [/li][li] Right Sidekick: [/li][li] [**] Power: [***] Armor: [***] Shield: [***] [/li][li] - The game will keep track of every weapon you have found. Aside from a basic available selection, you can only choose those weapons that you have found. [**] - There are cetain sidekicks available in Version 1.2 which should only be used as RIGHT sidekicks. They probably won't crash the game, but if selected as a left sidekick will not look very nice. These are labeled in the editor as .
[/quote] And now what's editorLevel about: Heading back on topic, is there a non-irc way to join devel team? my proper e-mail is lymphomaniac777 (AT-ST) góóglê'¶ ma1l ¶êrviæê

I'm afraid joining is a no-go. Classic has reached maturity as far as I've understood. I don't know if it's still being updated but odds are it won't evolve much. It reached its goal of providing the game to modern users. It appears to me it has been a success.
Enhanced never really took off and this happened for a reason. The code is a huge unmovable mess. I can tell by experience as I've played about a month with it in an internal build geared towards being more hardware friendly with no success at all. A complete rewrite is the only viable way to move it around and odds are this won't happen any time soon.
The "crime" you have noticed is only one of many.
There is an incredible amount of choices for an eventual Tyrian version and most require to break compatibility, rebuild artwork and drop support for older systems. This simply requires way too much expertise and effort to be viable.
It is my understanding the best way to contribute would be to document data formats so they can be exported to some other future system. Working on the code won't get it anywhere.
