Some interesting ideas here! You know what, I've been thinking at this "thruster" and "weight" concepts myself some time ago, they seemed to be somewhat interesting provided some added value such as time attack mode or whatever.
I don't understand the meaning of certain numbers, maybe I should check the math in the fan pages, I don't remember the inner workings anymore.
How do "special weapons" relate to sidekicks? How do they relate to actual ship special powers? Flare, repulsor and ion beam could be already here. Are you doing that on purpose?
Some of the new weapons are very interesting but I'm not really sure those numbers make any sense beside initial concept - in line of theory, weapon balance should shift between the different upgrade levels, it's a very complicated thing!
Can you produce something in PC-readable format for your sketches? Maybe with Inkscape or something?

All numbers are tentative, but the larger the digits, the higher the value or power.
Special Weapons are already present, but I was just suggesting that ships should be given "powers" like the Stalker in SuperTyrian. Sidekicks are entirely different from Special Powers in the discourse of my concepts.
As for making them more reader-friendly, I don't really see the point. The concepts aren't really what people want to see anyway. What the community really wants is fresh visual material; this is my experience with other communities for old and forgotten games. If nothing else, what I've posted here is fanart.
What I'd want to do the most is make graphics out of the things I've drawn. I used to make Fire Emblem portraits for my friends, so I might make new graphics, but I'm not making promises.
