So, a very long long time ago, I've beaten it, and the game continues with Episode 5 in ENGAGE level (plus a nifty TSHIP.png cutscene with Trent saying 'NOT ZINGLON!').
My question: Any reward for completing the episode 5, because I kept getting wasted in MINERS (I can't remember, either it or CORAL) that day?

Probably coral. That railgun is absolutely useless for killing things, it doesn't even go through ships. Zinglon's revenge secret pretty much ruined the game for me  |

That railgun when you max it out via + front weapon pickups, it becomes a semi-decent weapon. Mind you to max it out you have to pretty much not die in ziglon's revenge or ever (if you do die later just revert to an old save game) and not miss a + front weapon pickup.
And for me in the original version (dos box) and the Mac OS vesion (open tyrian) you can save in here and arcade and other places by using command or alt and S (on the in game menu screen. And use command/alt + L for loading old saved games.
