tyrhack changes not visible ingame

i'm running tyrian 2000 (appearently version 3.0, according to a briefly visible line when launching tyrian

i am using dosbox on windows 7 64 bits.

when i change some weapons in tyrhack, the file is actually changed. but ingame, nothing changes. what'd i do wrong?

Tyrhack changes in weapons should only work in the first 3 episodes of Tyrian. Episodes 4 and 5 are unaffected.
