Tyrhack not working in Windows 7

I tried to run the program Tyrhack in Windows 7, but it doesn't work.

I even tried to use DosBox (even AFTER editing the location of the Tyrian.HDT file in the Tyrhack.ini file to its right location), but it keeps telling me that it hasn't found the Tyrian.HDT file.

I use Windows 7 64-bit. Any help, please?

I believe Win 7 removed support for DOS executables, so DOSBox is the only way to go. Remember that the path in DOSBox is not the same as the path on your computer. Assuming the TyrHack directory is being mounted as drive C: and that directory contains tyrian.hdt, the directory you would set in the .ini would be C:\

Yeah, 64-bit versions of Windows can't run DOS or Win16 applications. Use DOSBox and check if you set all paths correctly.

TyrHack does not support Tyrian 2000, it only works with 2.1.

Strange, that people says that it works... but ok.

Then I have two question:
1. where I can get it? (already searched, but found nothing exept 2K version)

2. What is the difference exept version?

Here's Tyrian 2.1. The largest difference is that Episode 5 was added in Tyrian 2000.

But it doesn't work even on 2.1. anyway 

Error is the same: tyrian.hdt not found.
Directory is checked and even dosbox can see the file (when using tab button) just after the launch attempt. But programm say that can't...

It can be a little tricky in dosbox as you have to remember its usually setup to see C:\ as actually C:\games mostly so you keep dosbox in its own games directory. Made more confusing for me as my real games drive is actually g: and dosbox sees it as c: when its setup I spent ages messing around until I remembered that fact haha.

I have tyrhack in G:\games\tyrian\data\ which is also where the tyrian.hdt is but dosbox sees it as c:\tyrian\data so that is what you need to change the tyrhack.ini directory to for it to work.

Well, year later I finally got it...

Well, DosBox is mounting the whole path as "C:\" (trhough shortcut to fast starting) while I tried to change only the main drive in ".ini" file again and again.

Problem solved and it's finally works. Yay!

P.S. Thanks for help!

UPD: Just one last question: is any way to create new weapon\other equip. class entry? Or I can edit only already existing? Thanks.
