Hio!
The competition came to a close just recently, and I'm glad to say I finished the main parts in time. There were some features I would have liked to add but ran out of the resource. I was up for an incredible 39 hour period to finish it. After sending, I found quite a problem with it at school; in two player mode you couldn't use your rear weapons! I had to rush home after school, fix the glitch & send it again, then speed off to work.
I'd like to thank Ben Johnson for producing the fantastic background music. This was a really fun experience, and I've decided to continue producing it within my own time after the award ceremony (Even if I lose!). There are some parts I'll need to recode, as they're a bit wasteful and I can greatly improve them. I'll be producing a full level creator (I have my own but it's only for one level and enemy set) and releasing that for anyone who wishes to create their own levels for the game.
Download the final product.

The competition is almost finished, and I'm on schedule.
I promised you guys levels one and two, and I have delivered.. with 2 hours and 12 minutes to spare!
Download here.
Arrow Keys to move, Spacebar to shoot Main & Rear, X to Shoot your left sidekick, C for your right, Z to switch sidekick places. F10 to toggle fullscreen and F9 to take a screenshot.
Comments are appreciated & glitch reports. If you believe a section is too hard or you have found something wrong, please take a screenshot using F9, upload it to some public upload site and post the url & give a small explination of what is wrong.
I've done a bit of a hack job sewing the two levels together. There is no transition, it will just start the second once the first is completed because I'm completing the levels before I worry about the fancy stuff
Cheers,
Montycarlo

Yes, it's me again.
Sorry for bailing on you guys last time
I couldn't complete it as my denial of Yuriks's accusation bit my behind later on.
I'm entering into a competition, with all 'deliverables' due in on the 7th of August. I'm going to be working like mad.
Everything has started well, my programming experience with AS3 (I was using AS2 for Tyrian: Flash) has helped me greatly, as C# and AS3 is almost identical, save for a few small exceptions and missing methods (I have already needed to create my own functions and procedures for Object arrays haha).
I'm re-using the links that bb1, Gamera and other users have posted here to the sprites, sounds and music but I am missing a set of sprites; the UI. Does anyone have these sprites or will I be forced to print screen and edit in Fireworks?
Cheers.
