Hey everyone!
Just wanted to let you know that I registered the opentyrian.org domain as a gift to the project and community.
The first reason for that decision is that I plan on designing a website that will please everyone's need for information on this awesome project. I currently do not own any dedicated or shared hosting, so I use google for now.
One other minor reason is that I got tired of going through my bookmarks or google to find the google code site or forums.
I will remain sysadmin of said domain, but I will follow any possible instructions on the direction of the project, and I encourage every project member to send me questions and suggestions at alex@opentyrian.org , or if they are of interest to the community, to post them here.
Aw! Also, Gamera, I'd be more than happy to either create a subdomain for you, or a redirect page to your site/forums.
Cheers!

Oooookay folks.
I had a quick chat on MSN with Gamera a couple days ago, and to more or less quote him, it will eventually be time to move the forums elsewhere again in the near future, as the current ones are "crap", and unfortunatelly, he doesn't have much time for Tyrian Fandom these days...
I don't know for you, but Gamera's site was the first (and only?) complete site about this wonderful game, so I would definitely would regret to lose it.
In the meantime, I'm requesting quotes from different datacenters to get a good shared hosting space, or a cheap vps.
"Stay tuned for more happy days!"
Alex

PHPBB is always a good choice.
So versatile!

My personnal taste goes to SMF first, since I had security issues with phpBB in the past. I admit it's been 2+ years now, so I hope it is a better product now.
I also like Fireboard, a *GREAT* component for Joomla, simply because it is SO easy to configure, skin, and can bridge with Community Builder easily.
Anways, I'll see!
Thanks for the advice!
