I was wondering, how do I disable music?
I know theres a music volume bar, but even when it's set all the way to the left I can still hear the music.

But other than the music bar, i wouldnt know what to tell you...
what tyrain are you playing? 2k? 2.1? Open?

Hehe. Why? Well I was used to playing the game without music back in the days when I didn't actually have a sound card (good old days huh? ^^)
I'm playing OpenTyrian, but I know Tyrian2k had the same behavior.
I'm gonna try to load the setup executable via a DosBox, maybe I can disable the music there.

There's also manual control if you don't want music and can't resolve the issue, turn down the speakers or mute them via OS volume control.

You can select "No music" in the setup application. I don't know if it's in OpenTyrian, though.
