THE Tyrian ending 3D movie is stored in tyrend.anm. It seems to be (pretty sure) a DeluxePaint Animator file.

Tyrian.pic is:
First word (16-bit): Number of PCX pictures <Number of PCX pictures> signed ints (32-bit): Adress of each picture. And then, at the picture offsets are 63000 bytes of picture data encoded in a format too complicated to explain here.

Do you know how to view the DAT files in the Translate folder?

Tyrian.pic actually has RLE-encoded PCX files without a header. You can extract each image by copying the data between where it starts and where the next image starts.
And what .dat files? I don't have a Translate folder.

I remember seeing a translate folder in the tyrian2k downloaded from the site. Just tell me what the names of the files are, IIRC they're just copied from the main data nad put into that folder.

Cube1-5.dat levels1-5.dat and TYRIAN.HTX
What is an HTX extension anyway?

From the readme file in the folder
"These are the main files that would need to be translated. I'll update this directory as I discover anything I may not have otherwise realized needed translation and move text out from the program files or other difficult to translate files. As of this writing, about 95+% of the game text is located in these files.
This does not include the graphical files used in the game which contain various logos."

cubes1-5.dat are the datacube data and levels1-5.dat are the episode scripts (which control level flow, shop items, cutscenes, etc). Both can be decoded using TyrXOR (it's on gamera's site)
Tyrian.htx has all the weapon, ship, shields, enemies, etc. tables, and it's in a custom binary format (not encrypted). There's a doc in the OpenTyrian svn in classic/trunk/docs/ that explains the format of this file a bit.

Out of curiosity, what you plan on doing with all this?

just some editing, i got some ideas of making some better quality and color.
I like the little things tyrian has. Oh btw, do you know where the "Guy's head on gigantic spike graveyard gives you nightmares" picture can be accessed?

Tyrian.pic, it has all the menu backgrounds in the game.
