Unlikely. The GBA has 256kb of RAM. (The DS has 4mb) so unless you rewrite the game a good bit it won't work. It will probably be too slow too.

Is there anything to be done to fix the "lag" in the gameplay?
feels like the framerate cant keep up.
If i knew how i'd compile a new version based off the new enhanced build...

The DS hardware isn't very beefy, so I'm not surprised. Porting the enhanced branch probably wouldn't be very advantageous at this point... not for the DS anyway.

I remember running the game fine on a 66mhz pentium
granted a 66mhz ARM probably isn't as fast.
It's just lag when theres alot of explosions and weapon sprites. Changing the detail level doesnt help much though
