I have a problem with this windows build (revision 526): for some reason the game thinks I'm pressing left all the time. This makes the game unplayable as I can't move my ship and it's quite hard to navigate some menus . I'm running winxp using a wireless keyboard (Trust), though I did not install the drivers that came with it. Haven't tried to check if that does work. Looking at the stdout.txt file I noticed the game says it detected a joystick, which should not be true. Perhaps that's the cause of the problem? If necessary I can post the entire file, and the system specs. Thanks and keep up the good work on Opentyrian, looking forward to a finished version!

You have no gamepads of any kind connected to your computer?

Check your windows gamepad settings. Maybe it thinks you have a gamepad connected (those that aren't of the plug'n'play variety) and thus is blindly accepting the bogus values returned by the hardware.

yuriks: the load bug I mentioned, it loads the weapons correctly, but loads the wrong episode. Only happens at COMPLETED saves. Also happens if you try to load from full game mode, but works correctly if you do alt+l in arcade modes.
Or in the case of full game saves, MindlessXD says loading them twice works.

I agree with Mindless and yuriks on jordos' problem. Does your wireless keyboard use USB? It might be that it's being incorrectly detected as a joystick, too. I just tested 530, and it doesn't have that problem.
It's good to see that my Windows builds are helping out with testing, anyway.

Ah I found out the 'PPJoy' driver was being detected as a real joystick by tyrian. (it's a utility that allows you to fool programs into thinking you have a joystick installed, and then control it with the mouse or keyboard, though normally it should only work while the program is actually running...) I use it to play the tie fighter windows edition. Uninstalling the driver solved the problem, though I guess it'd be nice if I could keep it installed and still play the game. Oh well, minor bug. Thanks everyone!

You can use the "nojoy" command line option to disable joystick detection, that should work.

the ship select on the buy screen is extraordinarily bad for zlingon's ale. Glitch "ships" appear with names of the arcade ones and if you try to select them the game crashes. I didn't see this on any other level so far (I'm going through the first episode).
Also, the charge cannon is offset by two steps. That is, what should be the uncharged level is the fully charged level, and the two charged levels fire the next weapons on the values list.
This seems to continue into revision 530, which I just downloaded.

Zinglon's ale has problems? I'll take a look.
"The charge cannon is offset by two steps"? Charge cannon is a sidekick (IIRC), you can't upgrade it. =P

Zinglon's ale has problems? I'll take a look. "The charge cannon is offset by two steps"? Charge cannon is a sidekick (IIRC), you can't upgrade it. =P But the charge cannon charges. there are values associated with each weapon animation and effect, and the charge cannon has three such values: one for the uncharged state, one for the partially charged shot, and one for the fully charged shot. Currently, the uncharged is using the fully charged value, and the two charged values are using the next two values. Thus, it's offset by two weapons.

Redownload the Tyrian data from the FAQ page, most likely, you have corrupt data.
Also, everyone else download data from the FAQ page. That way the developers don't have to deal with random errors from corrupt data. Note that there was corrupt data linked on the FAQ page earlier, so even if you've already downloaded it from there, redownload.

My builds should no longer suck as much as of 533.

This colour corruption is shown when exiting jukebox. Now for a challenge: spot the error without using a zoom function.
