Yes, the scripting was done using a kind of wonky time-based scripting 'language'. More like events that occur at various game ticks.
Since I had to do most of the pathing in my head, this is why nobody could help me in the creation. It just made the other team members heads spin, but that was okay as it was kinda fun after you got the hang of it.
The base tile set did have a silly old DOS-based editor.
This -might- have been before mappy really was around. I'm not sure anymore, but I did evaluate it for a later project which was unfinished.
Nowadays I have my own 3D script editor, which is quite a bit more flashy, but then I wrote it for a company I work for.
