Hi, i've been reading these forums for ages now, though it was about time to make an account ;D Anyway, i'm working on converting borg one's riff midi of Composition in Q to something more readable, for playing. I must say i'm not exactly experienced at doing this kind of thing, but i'm learning Anyway, i've got about half of the song converted, the midi file is at users.on.net/~jessopk/Tyrian/CompositioninQ.mid and the Noteworthy composer file is at users.on.net/~jessopk/Tyrian/CompositioninQ.nwc. If you can help out, or if you happen to know if this has been done already, please let me know. Thanks, Darksidelemm

Nice composition! I tried using MWSoft (MidiWave Soft)'s MIDMap v5, and failed pathetically at it.

Heh, I use a mix of Noteworthy and Sibelius. Anyway, I had a mess around on my keyboard (music keyboard, not computer keyboard) and managed to kind of reproduce disturbed's rendition of Composition in Q, so I might try and record that through midi if I can get around to doing it (and when I can play it without errors).
Cheers, Darksidelemm

Disturbed's Composition in Q remix is definitely my favorite remix ever... I can't play the piano, but it'd be awesome if I could learn to play just this one song. Why would I need to play anything else? ;D

Disturbed's remix is fantastic! I can only somewhat play the piano myself... A bit stale, but nonetheless a tad effective. Though not nearly as close to good, I can barely play Composition in Q. The keys are difficult, though.

OK I just had a little 'recording session' where I made up some loops of the backing part of the song, and played them back over and over again, while recording the melody line over the top. Here's the result: users.on.net/~jessopk/CompositionTest.mp3. Cheers, Darksidelemm

It's not a remix, i've just always wanted to be able to play this song.

I heard the mp3. Fantastic! Sounds like something from Silent Hill or Sky Guardian's tearful Gameover screen... That's good playing!

Slightly off topic, i've been messing around with an audio sequencing program and some tyrian midi's, and i've come up with a version of Tyrian - The Song that uses all strings, bar the droning sound at the start. The ending sounds kind of dodgy, but i'm happy with the rest. users.on.net/~jessopk/Tyrian_The_Song_All_Strings.mp3

I can't tell what instument is playing the part of the low segment after the loud intro Sounds like some tweaked drum. Really nice, imitates the actual song near perfectly, with exception of a few parts. I need to get working on my mixes again, I'm falling behind schedule >_< It's actually just me mixing these songs and hosting them... You guys actually unconsciously saved my site. I was one viewer short of the site being disconnected from the TK host, and someone came in, originating from these forums! Thanks to this wonderful community, my mix site can stay alive for 90 days, until I need to have at least 100 viewers again. But that's 90 days from now.
