Runs on 'Pentium' with almost no slowdown, unoptimized. Low framerates in the video are mostly due to the webcam. This is a proper port using jni, so it can run on normal phones.
Also, thanks to Mindless and yuricks for the scaler code.
I just need to sort out the input and a few minor bugs, then it'll go off to the market.

I was wondering if you are still working on this port and if you are implementing touch-screen controls (either just on-screen dpad+buttons or something more fancy)? Would be awesome to have tyrian on my android phone and I feel sad I can only play the unfinished GBA port

Hi.
In your last post seems that you have almost finished this port.....
It'd be soooooo wonderful to have Tyrian for android!!!!
Thank you very much for the effort.
Antonio.
P.D. If you need help, perhaps I could try to help you somehow.

The port is funtional and playable at this point. All that remains is cleaning up the controls for a more phone-friendly experience, and fixing an obscure crash scenario or two (Most annoyingly the crash when the phone changes orientation).
I don't have time to work on it right now, and probably won't for several months; so if someone wants a copy of the source to work with, I can upload it.

I can't promise to reach some success, but I'd try if you want to share the code.
Thank you again for your work

I've made another port of OpenTyrian, it's already released to Android Market (so you can install it right away from any Android device). Homepage & sources

I guess you're just supposed to be able to install it from the Android App Store ... I don't have an Android phone, so I can't really confirm that it works, though.

I tried it and it works, just the phone (touchscreen) controls aren't implemented yet, you need an external controller.

Now it has on-screen keyboard, even a bit configurable If you want them to look better give me some images or at least a sketch.

The Android port have reached 10 000 downloads, and has stable 4 / 5 stars rating, yay. Some statistics (still have outdated numbers )

It's a comment on someone playing it in portrait mode.
