I have better things to do than to argue with everyone on the forum that hates me. Like trying to help Trisk mix better songs instead of bashing him? Which is exactly my point. There are better things to do with your time, like improving the song based on critiscism, than pointlessly ranting on the forum that the world is set to get you. Oh, if only it was that... Anyway, sorry you feel that way. Bye. *facepalm*

Yuriks, what card were you using with the midi option? As far as I know, that option offloaded it to your sound device, nowadays to the sound device of your choosing. I was fooling around with some options in the jukebox with my SB16AWE freshly installed, when I accidentally hit MIDI333. It was so incredible, it was like playing a new game. Creative Soundfont (or wavetable I believe) has since been dramatically improved and has woken the tired FM to sounding just like that... FM coming in on a bad station during a rainstorm in the garage. I blame this on the built-in soundfont rather than the composer, as the compositions utterly shine otherwise. If you are trying to play midi through Microsoft soundfont...then that would be the source of distaste! I don't remember. I used to play with an SB16, on Windows though, so I don't know what it uses. Even so I never really liked. I tried the midi's with some good soundfonts a while ago and wasn't really impressed. Rock Garden actually degrades well to midi, most of the others, not so much, imo.

As said in many many posts here, it all comes down to taste. I can't stand the "screech screech screech- screechscreechscreech screech screeech screech" of level one but that's just me.
As for those other people... I remember back in a time when profanity was an utter rarity on this forum. Maybe that's why we're so disgusted with certain people joining.

This is terrible. I think this gone very wrong. It is sad, to say the least. I wonder if Ben is really lost. I can share most of its feelings, but I have to note that some reactions were definetly out of place. From both sides. I appreciate moderators don't delete user posts here (a thing that happened to me once or maybe twice recently after disageeing with a mod) but I wish this won't happen again.

Wow. Nice to see that some people agree with me! You sure all showed me what a troll I am...yes sir, I'm a troll and you aren't! You should post about it! And since this thread has been read 10 times more than OpenTyrian Enhanced has ever been downloaded and 400 times more than it has ever actually been ENJOYED, I think I'll leech off its popularity and plug MY game! -------------------------------------------- For any of you who are fans of classic adventure games like King's Quest or Monkey Island, as well as horror/thriller storylines, why not get yourself in the mood for Halloween by trying "Prodigal!" It's a "Story of the Year for 2005" award winner played by hundreds of billions of people the world over! "But, wait! The earth doesn't HAVE that many people on it!" you cry in shock! Well don't bother me with small details like that! Check out this wealth of features, then blindly download it like a hoard of slavering zombie chipmunks! It has all new, NOT ported, copied, or ripped off content, like music, atmospheric sound, and graphics! And It was made before I had Reason, so the music is just made with a soundfont and a Soundblaster Audigy card! You can fill this thread with dozens of posts about how bad it is! Hear the difference! And it runs in Windows natively! It won't need yuriks and his stunning talents and rapier wit to port it! And what would you pay for this? $100? $200? What if I told you it's FREE!? Yes, it's as FREE as FREE can be! "But then it must be garbage..." you say? Well, don't take my word for it, go read the review right here, and then click on the link to download and try it for yourself! reloaded.org/download/Prodigal/142/So go download it, and get yourself a junky pair of headphones so the sound is sure to suck! Then turn the lights on and only play it in the bus while traveling to work, on a Netbook filled with viruses! That's the way to enjoy horror games, right? peace out, yall! EDIT by yuriks: Lowercased "Yuriks". Because I can.

Wow. Nice to see that some people agree with me about how stupid the devs of this project are. To you guys, thanks for the support. And since this thread is sooo pop'lar, I think I'll plug MY game! Then turn the lights on and only play it in the bus while traveling to work, on a Netbook filled with viruses! That's the way to enjoy horror games, right? peace out, yall! I skimmed over your post: Read the first paragraph, opened the link, took a look at the review, then though "So, he came here just to advertise his game? Meh, it's free and looks interesting enough, I'll let it slide." Then I came back here and read your entire post. That's when you made me facepalm. You have original content. Oh, you made it in AGS. "Look, he's a worthless (non-)programmer that can't even code an adventure game engine!" But I don't mean that. Some people can't code. Some people can't do art or content. And some people can't write, or design. And yet other can do all of those well and create great little masterpieces. If you can't, that's ok, you can always find a pre-made engine, or get someone else to do graphics for you, and that's a perfectly fine way to make a game. But then, there are pretentious idiots who come complain on other people's forums that they aren't worshiping their stuff hard enough, and if their specialties differ from theirs, that they don't know how to do anything and can only steal or rip from others. I feel like redacting the name of your game and the link from your post just to piss you off right now, but then you'll probably complain about how I'm abusing my position and suppressing your free speech rights in my power trip, so I'll leave it there. --- Btw, I'd like to advertise this small little project: code.google.com/p/opentyrian/It's an engine for running a SHMUP game called Tyrian. It uses the same datafiles, but we coded the thing on our own. It isn't known much yet, but that's because I don't go advertising everywhere, people mostly take notice of it on their own, usually when looking at my hostmask on IRC. And I'm glad there are people on these forums who support the non-artistically inclined. Be sure to check it out if you think it sounds interesting.

I love how this guy comes here, doesn't get the praise he wants, and then rages for a little. Calm down.

to be honest, it sounds ALOT like you just slapped your own midi sounds on top of an existing file you're coming off as a whiny jerk to be honest man; if you want to redo the tracks redo them, no one is obligated to use them
